The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, supporting, developing, configuring, testing, implementing, and maintaining the ServiceNow environments. The ServiceNow Developer will work closely with customers and IT department leads to configure ServiceNow to meet the needs of the organization.  Candidates with similar experience with other applications are encouraged to apply.



Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Monitoring health, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.    Develops/implements new configurations and customizations for ServiceNow
  • Process automation within the ServiceNow instance and other Information Services applications.
  • Coordinating and facilitating application and platform upgrades.
  • Maintains an understanding of ServiceNow modules and software licensing functionality.
  • Providing updates, status, and completion information to tickets in the work queue regarding current assigned incidents, resolution efforts, and projects.

Experience Requirements
  • Passion for software development and problem solving
  • Experience with JavaScript development is required
  • Identifies system deficiencies, recommends solutions, and participates in ongoing production support.
  • Expertise in coding efficient, object-oriented, modularized and quality software
  • Knowledge of unit testing, profiling, and code tuning
  • Exceptional debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication    
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes.    
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow applications for Incident, Change, Problem, CMS, Facilities, Knowledge, CMDB and reports / metrics, as well as Performance Analytics is a plus.    
  • In depth understanding of ServiceNow functionality and how ITIL processes can be implemented in ServiceNow including, but not limited to Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Asset Management, CMDB Management, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, and Service Portal modules.

Educational Requirements:
  • Must meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification criteria specified in DoD 8570-01M which includes:  Security+CE, (or one of the following equivalents: GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)
  • Recommend – associate degree (AS/AA) or Bachelor Degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field, or possessing Systems Administrator expertise gained through prior education/training/employment such as military occupational specialty or classification    
  • Plus, but not required – Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
  • ServiceNow Certifications (at a minimum Certified System Administrator (CSA))

Security Requirements:    
  • U.S. Citizenship required   
  • Candidates must have active DoD Secret clearance
