The System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) / System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Administrator is responsible for automating patch updates, software deployment, and monitoring enterprise workstations and servers. The successful candidate will have intermediate to advanced knowledge of enterprise patch management, software distribution, monitoring, alerting, and relevant Microsoft tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Administer SCCM application and solution architecture
  • Administer SCOM application and solution architecture
  • Automate patch releases and configuration changes
  • Configure alerts and monitoring with SCOM application
  • Remediate vulnerabilities based on internal security reports
  • Build unattended installation packages for enterprise software applications
  • Coordinate release schedules with Support Desk, and Data Center Operations
  • Provide Tier 3 support for incidents related to software distribution, patching events, and alerting
  • Create, maintain, and update software distribution solution documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Create, maintain, and update monitoring solution documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Generate reports to provide progress updates for IT management

Educational Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or related field
  • 1 year experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/ConfigMan) or Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) or SCOM;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification criteria specified in DoD 8570-01M which includes:
  • Security+CE, (or one of the following equivalents: GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)
  • A computing environment certification such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or an equivalent

Security Requirements:  U.S. Citizenship required. Candidate must have a favorably adjudicated SSBI or SSBI-PR updated within the past 5 years with eligibility for a top-secret DoD security clearance. Candidates meeting all positions requirements except the clearance requirement are encouraged to apply for future consideration
