Imagine One is currently seeking candidates for a contingent position providing data management support to the PEO Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) support contract.  We are looking for a Mid Level In-Service Cybersecurity Engineer. Work will be performed in Washington, DC. Job duties include:
 
  • Leverage his or her in-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Participate in engineering reviews of drawings, interfaces, and functional specifications against cybersecurity requirements.
  • Analyze various virtual environments and data paths.
  • Participate in science & technology studies, including engineering trade studies, capability / feasibility studies, impact assessments, and other relevant activities.
  • Provide timely review of interface control documents (ICD), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and other technical documentation from a cybersecurity perspective.
  • Interface with waterfront, shipboard, and land-based test site personnel on cybersecurity issues.
  • Maintain and administer Operating Systems (OS) and domain structures (Windows 2000, 2008, 2012, Active Directory, etc.), servers, services, and associated vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze firewall logs, router syslog, and network/host-based intrusion detection system (IDS)/ intrusion prevention system (IPS).
  • Generate & deliver timely status updates, weekly reports, schedule revisions, engineering reports, briefings, documents, procedures, plans, drawings, white papers, planning documents, and other relevant products as required.
  • Work cohesively with PMS 505 leadership, internal & external personnel to timely meet demand signals and work tasks to closure.
 
 Experience Requirements:  
 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience carrying out tasks of similar scope and size as described above.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy IT Practices enabling participation in a broad array of system concept & design efforts.
  • Knowledge of how to integrate multiple cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and instructions.
  • Cybersecurity expertise must include a firm understanding of security architecture(s), how to mitigate threats, and change management.
  • Understand cybersecurity threats; hacker methodologies and tactics.
  • Understand the use of commonly employed cybersecurity tools, applications, appliances, software and implementation practices; develop, review, and implement mission systems test procedures for both LCS ship variants.
  • Knowledge of packet captures and TCP dumps.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity integration testing, vulnerability and penetration assessments as well as Red Team practices.
  • Understand TCP/IP protocol suite, TCP/IP headers and packets, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and commonly used TCP/UDP ports and associated services.
  • Self-motivating, highly proactive professional demeanor.
  • Ability to perform in routine high tempo environment, and satisfy quick turnaround deadlines
  • Ability to balance potentially competing priorities to ensure project success. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Preferred Qualification: Experience with Navy Hull, Mechanical, & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment.
 
 Educational Requirements: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
    • Degree requirement may be substituted with an additional 5 years of equivalent civilian, or military experience in Cybersecurity; such as Information Systems Technician, Electronics Technician or Operations Specialist ratings.
  • Minimum of one of the following certifications (either completed or in progress): CISSP, CISM, CEH, Certified Incident Response Engineer, CCNA/CCNP, CCSP, MCSE or similar cybersecurity certification.
